I originally deleted my Twitter account, because I felt like I was swimming through a huge ocean where everyone was just more talented and successful than me. I became a "Newgrounds exclusive" as a sort of sabbatical away from all the "noise" that envelopes mainstream social media. Newgrounds was a quiet place, that temple on the hill where I could just focus and not have to worry about what was trending or whatever.
I know what you're gonna say, "You shouldn't pay attention to numbers." And you know what? You're right! But I'm someone who's trying to make a career, or at least a respectable side gig out of their art, and seeing other artists around me just knock it out of the goddamn park was seriously affecting me.
Finally after getting front paged a few times, joining a discord server where a few other respectable artists complimented my work (as well as establishing some personal familiarity with them), garnering a good following here on NG, as well as, finally discovering a "style" I can be satisfied with, I feel confident enough to believe that there is a group of people out there who want to see the shit I make.
And don't worry. Newgrounds will ALWAYS be number 1, baby.

Social media can be quite cruel, to be honest. Newgrounds is unquestionably my favorite place to be as an artist, the community is so perfectly tailored to building you up and perfect for artists who want to build themselves up.
That being said, sometimes you've gotta play the game. I've considered deleting my twitter account dozens of times, and will undoubtedly continue to. It takes time, effort, patience, and a bit of luck, but don't worry too much about the amount of people noticing you. Keep doing what you do, and eventually people with similar tastes will acclimate to you.
Big love, my dude. Keep up the good work!
